Description
The National Competitive Grants Program (NCGP) is Australia’s $1 billion a year flagship grants program funding blue-sky research and backing the ideas with the greatest potential. This report sets the direction for a revitalised and more accessible research funding program in Australia.
The terms of reference for the NCGP Review identified six key areas for review. This report outlines the findings and plan for action to address these key areas. It identifies focus areas and recommendations.
The report:
- reflects extensive consultation with researchers, institutions and stakeholders
- outlines a simpler and more coherent National Competitive Grants Program
- strengthens support for early‑career researchers and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander researchers and research
- confirms ongoing focus on research excellence, integrity, security, fairness and transparency.
