This research project investigated the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on people living in Australia, with a particular focus on their experiences, perceptions and practices—especially in terms of tracking technologies (the COVIDSafe app, the use of QR codes), masks and other prosocial techniques.

This report provides the multi-disciplinary context for, and approach to, building a digital CBD. The report draws together expertise surrounding digital technologies and cities from economics, law, the social sciences, media and communications, and cybersecurity, to identify Melbourne’s challenges, transition points and opportunities.

The Australian Digital Inclusion Index uses survey data to measure digital inclusion across three dimensions of access, affordability and digital ability. The research explores how these dimensions vary across the country and across different social groups. The 2021 Australian Digital Inclusion Index marks the first year of reporting using Australian Internet Usage Survey data.

This report describes the outcomes of stage one of the project, 'Explore and Quantify.' This includes an analysis of 22 exploratory interviews, resulting in 22 video vignettes of older adults’ information and communication technology risk perceptions (March 2021), and findings from a survey of approximately 400 members from the University of the Third Age (U3A).

This report examines how women in couple families with male partners and primary school-aged children managed work, family and remote schooling during long pandemic-related lockdowns. It draws on in-depth interviews with 14 women and the findings highlight how the triple load in lockdowns is taking its toll on gender equality.
