The Victorian Centre for Climate Change Adaptation Research was a multi-institutional research organisation whose focus was primarily action-based research. The purpose of their research was to assist the development of policy and build understanding and capacity in relation to adaptation across the private and public sectors in Victoria.
Victorian government funding for VCCCAR concluded in June 2014.

Governance and legislative issues for critical infrastructure adaptation to climate change
The impacts of climate change for ports will include increased run-off and siltation requiring increased dredging; disturbance and distribution of currently entrained heavy metals and other pollutants; delays to berthing and cargo handling; coastal flooding; and required engineering upgrades to wharfs, piers, gantries and other cargo handling equipment.

Sustainability appraisals of design-led responses to climate adaptation
Design charettes (a form of intensive workshop) were held in Bendigo and Sea Lake, engaging community members, local government and state government staff and academics in an intensive process of envisaging and designing alternative futures for their locality based on an understanding of local conditions and potential future climate conditions.
