This report sets out a framework for government to address Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), reducing the distress and risk of suicide they engender. The findings show the importance of addressing trauma early and consistently throughout a person’s life. The report sets out eight guiding principles and 33 recommendations for governments, policymakers and services.

This article provides an overview of the nature and adequacy of culturally appropriate health services within Western Australian prisons based on coroner findings on Aboriginal deaths in custody between 2019 to 2023. The findings reported substandard quality of supervision, care and treatment. The article calls for implementation of recommendations from Australian government inquiries.
