This strategy has been developed to transform the way social and affordable housing is delivered to Territorians through supporting a diverse and sustainable community housing sector.

This study examines the characteristics of successful tenancies for Indigenous people to understand ‘what works’ for successful housing outcomes, including for private and social housing, and across different locations.

This report contributes to the research and evidence base for ending homelessness using an ending homelessness model built around addressing drivers of homelessness, meeting the direct needs of those experiencing homelessness, increasing the supply of social and affordable housing and supporting the enabling environment.

To address affordable housing challenges, the sector has turned to traditional government-led interventions meant to influence supply and demand. The authors argue that alongside these traditional approaches, there is a need for multi-stakeholder collaboration in resilient networks that create novel niche solutions, one being pop-up shelters or dwellings established in vacant structures.

This interim report aims to identify future regulatory arrangements that will best support the long-term interests of social housing residents and their communities in Victoria. It also aims to best position social (and affordable) housing for growth and transformation over the coming decades.
