Professional learning is a commonly used strategy for helping teachers develop the skills and knowledge they need to use evidence-based practices in the classroom. This report presents the findings of a randomised trial in 17 primary and secondary schools in Western Australia examining the effectiveness of scalable 'booster' interventions as a follow-up to professional learning.

Aboriginal deaths in custody in Western Australian prisons

This article provides an overview of the nature and adequacy of culturally appropriate health services within Western Australian prisons based on coroner findings on Aboriginal deaths in custody between 2019 to 2023. The findings reported substandard quality of supervision, care and treatment. The article calls for implementation of recommendations from Australian government inquiries.

Institutional responses to Voluntary Assisted Dying

Patients seeking to access voluntary assisted dying (VAD) are likely to be concurrently receiving care from institutions with different levels of participation in VAD. This article reports on the various institutional approaches to VAD based on interviews with regulators. Overall, the findings revealed significant diversity in how institutions approached various VAD activities.
