The 2018 report provides a projection of national building and construction activity for the next six years, through to 31 December 2023. It includes national and regional breakdowns of actual and forecast residential building, non-residential building and infrastructure activity.

Visibility of the expected pipeline of building and construction work can provide the basis for:

• improved planning by all participants in the sector
• scheduled investment in skills and capital
• coordination between construction clients that can lead to better scheduling of construction projects.

It's about managing supply networks and coordinating resources so they get to the right place at the right time and work on the right things to deliver the right outcomes.

The report is based on building and construction forecasting by BRANZ, and Pacifecon NZ Ltd (Pacifecon) data on known non-residential building and infrastructure intentions.
