One of the legislated functions of the QPC is to promote public understanding of matters relating to productivity, economic development and industry in Queensland.

The QPC Productivity Lecture aims to encourage evidence-based discussion and debate on important productivity and policy issues.  The 2018 lecture was delivered by Professor Banks in Brisbane on the 19 October 2018 and attended by senior government, industry and community thought leaders.

Professor Banks’ lecture discusses a wide range of productivity challenges in Australia as well as the potential role of productivity commissions in helping to address them.
