Retirement planning, saving and attitudes: survey report | 836.27 KB |
Description
This report informed the work of the Retirement Income Review, by presenting results from an online survey about retirement planning, saving and attitudes. Specifically, the survey sought to answer questions under four broad themes:
- Retirement expectations, and attitudes towards the 'retirement income system'
- Retirement planning and saving
- Voluntary superannuation contributions
- Financial advice
Key findings include that voluntary superannuation contributions appear to have increased over the last decade, many respondents were pessimistic about the future of the Aged Pension, and most respondents had not estimated how much they will need to save for retirement.
