The City of Yarra is keen to maintain a diverse population by increasing the supply of affordable housing for households with various income levels and requirements. Although Council is not the main policy player, it can support and contribute to social and affordable housing in a number of ways, including: through its role as a planning authority; by contributing land, buildings and assets; by partnering with and facilitating the work of other stakeholders; and, by advocating to other levels of government.
