Description

This research applies social capital theory to deepen understanding of First Nations Aboriginal disadvantage in remote Australia, its conception, causes, and consequences. It identifies factors that contribute to both the production and decline of social capital in this context, including contemporary and traditional factors.  It provides a new vantage on Aboriginal disadvantage, one that provides innovative insights into why some 'Closing the Gap' targets are not being met.
