Description

Together with the new Aged Care Act, strengthened quality standards for aged care are expected to be introduced from 1 July 2024.

This draft aims to help providers, aged care workers and other stakeholders to understand the new strengthened Quality Standards and their roles and responsibilities in meeting them. Further draft resources will be available specifically for older people receiving care and their representatives.

Responses from providers, aged care workers, older people and their representatives, and other stakeholder will help produce resources that are fit-for-purpose, easy-to-understand and support the delivery of quality, person-centred aged care. 

This is an opportunity to share your knowledge and ideas and help improve aged care.

This and related resources aim to help providers, aged care workers and other stakeholders understand and implement the strengthened Quality Standards.

Consultation documents include:

  • guidance documents for each strengthened Quality Standard
  • the draft audit methodology
  • an evidence framework
  • guidance for workers
  • a pre-audit preparation tool
  • a request for information template
  • a glossary.

The consultation closes 30 April 2024.
