Description
The National Energy Performance Strategy will coordinate action to improve energy performance for all Australians.
Energy performance includes:
- Energy efficiency – using less energy to do that same thing
- Demand flexibility – varying when and how energy is used
- Electrification or fuel switching – swapping to electricity powered technologies or other cleaner sources of energy
The strategy provides a long-term framework to manage energy demand, so the Australian community can enjoy the economic, climate and health benefits of improved energy performance. The framework also aims to contribute to Australia meeting its legislated emissions reduction and renewable energy targets.
