It focuses on priority areas of reform to deliver better outcomes for social housing tenants, social housing applicants and people experiencing homelessness. The strategy sets out the vision, ambition, priorities and targets for the plan. The vision is that everyone has access to a decent home and support if they need it.

Priority areas

  • Customer-driven service: a system that is genuinely person-centred – one that’s fair, inclusive and empowers people to have greater control over their home and their future.
  • More and better homes: designed to support tenant and community wellbeing, our quality new homes are accessible, sustainable and well-located.
  • Improving maintenance: investing in maintenance to improve the quality, comfort and energy efficiency of social housing, supporting better outcomes for tenants and communities.
  • A system that works: bringing together government, providers and communities to build a sustainable social housing and homelessness system that lays the foundation for generational reform.

The report is accompanied by the discussion paper.
