After decades of debate, deliberation and inaction Sydney is finally to have a second airport at Badgerys Creek. So far we don’t have a design and we’re not sure if or when there might be a rail connection between the new airport and the city. But we know it’s going to be built and that the federal government will pay for it.

Today no world cities would be without an airport or two. But not all airports are the same – there are some airports that are a joy to fly into and others that are a nightmare. So what makes a good airport and what could we learn from the best airports in the world?
