The authors of this paper argue that capability functioning for adaptive self-determination, which was mobilised by Indigenous organisations during the COVID-19 pandemic, arguably constitutes a public good for the whole nation, not just for Indigenous communities.

The annual Family is Culture Community Report Card has been developed to provide an independent, Aboriginal community perspective on the NSW Government’s implementation of the 2019 Family Is Culture Review Report (FIC Review Report) recommendations. The key issues highlighted are system failures, ineffective transitions to Aboriginal community-controlled organisations, and neglected early intervention funding.

This report explores mobility patterns of Indigenous people living on Country and its impact on the planning of housing, infrastructure and services within remote communities. The research finds increased and improved housing is required for many remote communities.

The objective of this research was to characterise the socio‐demographic characteristics, aged and health care needs, and aged care services used by older Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people assessed for aged care service eligibility. The research reveals that despite their high care needs, only half the eligible applicants accessed approved aged care services.

The final inquiry report sets out the Productivity Commission’s findings and recommendations on the urgent need to renew the 2004 National Water Initiative, due to climate change and changing water demand.
