This article describes the perspectives of family members supporting people with disability moving into individualised housing in the community. These transitions have benefits for people with disability and their families, but also bring adjustment challenges and stresses, illustrating the need for considered planning and support for family members.

In response to the current housing crisis, governments across the country are implementing strategies to facilitate access to crisis accommodation for people. Increasingly, this crisis accommodation is provided in the form of motels. This paper seeks to summarise current evidence relating specifically to at-risk families residing in motels, finding that it is a suboptimal model.

It presents survey findings that show widespread parental concern, and calls for urgent action from elected leaders to phase out fossil fuels and transition to renewable energy, emphasizing that climate change is a major electoral concern for parents.

This report examines the evidence that social capital acts as a protective shield for children, families and communities under stress and makes the case that government should increase activities that strengthen social capital and networks to support families to stay safely together. It identifies four mechanisms to strengthen social capital to support families.

This employment guide for people with disability provides real-life examples as well as activities to brainstorm and help support the practical implementation of suggested steps. The guide covers many themes from setting a vision and career goals, to exploring work opportunities, customised employment and capturing the learnings.
