Family violence is a global scourge that inflicts serious harm on families regardless of background, culture and socio-economic circumstances. Although Pacific peoples are thriving in New Zealand, it is also clear that they suffer from high rates of family violence. This report presents a framework for change designed to help reduce family violence within the New Zealand Pasefika community.
Recommendations
Mobilising communities - this strategy focuses on supporting communities to identify their own issues and solutions and to lead positive change for Pacific families
Capability development - this strategy focuses on strengthening Pacific capacity and capability to support the aspirations of Pasefika Proud – to design, lead and deliver the solutions for Pacific peoples.
