The Australian Disaster Resilience Index: a summary | 4.62 MB |
Research has developed the first national snapshot of disaster resilience to help governments, local organisations and emergency services improve their communities’ resilience to natural hazards.
The Australian Disaster Resilience Index (the Index) was developed by the Bushfire and Natural Hazards Cooperative Research Centre, in partnership with the University of New England. It enables organisations and governments to tailor programs and policies that strengthen disaster resilience in specific areas, as well as across states and the country.
The document provided here is a summary report of the detailed research behind the Index, designed to provide a snapshot of the Index. More detailed information about the Index can be found at the Index website.
