The development of this strategy is in direct response to the Albanese Government's election commitment and has been informed by extensive consultation. A key theme emerging from this consultation is the need for greater collaboration across Australian Government agencies - to make sure the government has a shared vision and finds better ways of working together.
Recognising how critical the early years are for children’s development and continued success over their lifetime, the strategy articulates how the Australian government will prioritise and support child-centred policy development, and target investment in early years supports and services over the next ten years.
The Australian government has also released an evidence summary in support of the strategy.
