Impact of ‘Brain in Hand’ digital support services
A lack of personalised support systems is among the causes of heightened anxiety for many neurodivergent people. While digital tools for neurodivergent populations are emerging, robust evidence supporting their effectiveness remains limited.
The paper reports on an evaluation of Brain in Hand – a UK digital support service for people with autism, ADHD and mental health conditions that combines on-demand human support and digital tools.
The research found that users of Brain in Hand report improved health-related quality of life, reduced anxiety, and better management of social anxiety and feelings of overwhelm. These improvements were seen across different groups. Brain in Hand has the potential to support a wide range of neurodivergent individuals, particularly those experiencing heightened anxiety and health challenges. The research also contributes to the evidence base on digital-based support for neurodivergent populations.
