Description
In its 10th year, the report provides an annual look at how charities and community organisations in Australia and New Zealand use technology to amplify their impact. It is built on insights shared by over 800 not-for-profits (NFPs) across data, cyber, digital transformation and artificial intelligence (AI).
The report shows evidence the sector has made significant progress in adopting tools and infrastructure, where challenges and risks continue to grow, and how there's much more to do to achieve further improvements.
The report outlines:
- what’s really happening with AI adoption and use cases
- whether cyber capability is improving amid rising threats
- the biggest challenges facing NFPs
- how NFPs are building data capability for better outcomes
- how NFPs are leveraging digital marketing for fundraising and engagement.
Key findings

- NFPs rank implementation costs (31%) and lack of time (23%) as the main barriers preventing them from upgrading their systems.
- 25% of organisations cite a lack of data and analytics skills as their most significant barrier to improving their data and analytics capabilities.
- Data security continues to be the main barrier for the NFP sector in adopting AI.
