This scorecard provides information on a range of labour market indicators in New Zealand and assesses their contribution to economic growth.

Overview:

The June 2014 quarter seasonally adjusted results show that compared to the March 2014 quarter:

• the number employed increased by 10,000 people (0.4 per cent) and the number  unemployed decreased by 9,000 (6.3 per cent)
• the unemployment rate decreased to 5.6 per cent
• the labour force participation rate decreased 0.3 percentage points to 68.9 per cent.
