Description
This review examined the costs and benefits of clinical placements and found only limited evidence. No evidence compared a cost and/or benefit in more than one setting, between disciplines or investigated placements in vocational training. Comprehensive data collection is required across the work profile to allow an accurate assessment. The review gives examples of a range of tangible and intangible benefits for health service providers and organisations. Priorities for future research are identified.
