This review targets contemporary literature examining quality from the viewpoint of older Australians who receive aged care services in the residential and community sectors. It addresses current and emerging issues in the literature, predominately from studies published from 2010 onwards. The review emphasises Australian research on quality in aged care but also draws on what can be learned from international initiatives that have been evaluated in the literature.
