The Department of Industry, Innovation and Science is undertaking a review of innovation metrics. The aim of the review is to develop a suite of metrics that more fully capture innovation and thereby support better decision-making in Australia.
To date, the Department has consulted with over 50 innovation system organisations and experts who have identified gaps, issues and opportunities for innovation metrics. The department is now opening consultation publicly, to acquaint innovation system stakeholders with our progress to date, and to provide a broader range of stakeholders with the opportunity to contribute to the Review. The aim of this first public consultation is to ensure that all the key issues have been identified and to seek feedback on the relative priority of these issues.
