Description
This plan sets out a coordinated approach for the Australian Public Service (APS) to attract, develop and retain people with skills in the rapidly growing data, digital and cyber areas. It outlines:
- the complexities in the external environment that affect government operations, policymaking and digital transformation
- the crucial role of the APS data, digital and cyber security workforce in achieving the government's aims
- the common workforce challenges faced by agencies
- a coordinated approach to tackling these challenges, using the benefits of scale and collaboration.
The plan aligns with broader government strategies and identifies four key action areas to support agencies to strengthen their workforce and enhance future skills planning.

- Uplift technical capabilities.
- Grow and deploy a specialist cohort.
- Enhance capability planning maturity.
