All over Australia, students are studying and learning at home instead of in schools. This fact sheet focuses on our vulnerable young people and gives some guidance on relationships, adaptation and uncertainty.

This first in a series of reports by the Gonski Institute for Education paints a worrying picture of changed learning conditions in Australian schools. Well before the COVID-19 pandemic hit Australia, children’s significant access to digital technology and its impacts on learning and wellbeing had become a major concern for educators.

This impact evaluation assessed the impact and quality of the STEM Professionals in Schools Program. The program performed best in delivering benefits to direct and indirect program recipients and the greatest impact was with teachers and in the broader community. The report recommends program improvements, including in data collection and the partnership model.

The Speak Out Against Racism (SOAR) project is a collaborative school-based study on racism, racial discrimination and bystander responses to racism among Australian schools.

Educators and early childhood services work hard every day to prevent, identify and respond to bullying between children and young people. This strategy focuses on strengthening responses to children’s bullying both inside and outside the school gates.
