On 26 March 2018, the Senate referred an inquiry into the ‘Commitment to the Senate’ issued by the Business Council of Australia on 21 March 2018, and commitments to stronger wages and employment to the Senate Economics References Committee for inquiry. This is the interim report from that inquiry.

This is the final report of the inquiry by the Senate Economics References Committee into corporate tax avoidance in Australia.

This inquiry examined teachers and teaching, including the importance of ongoing teacher education, ‘measurements of gain’ in schools, government programs designed to support young people to gain the skills and work experience they need to get and keep a job and particular issues facing students with a disability.

This report recommends that the Department of the House of Representatives, in conjunction with the Department of Parliamentary Services, work within existing resources to update the House e-petitions system and web page design to improve user experience and accessibility for all users.

This report examines parliamentary standing orders, identifying some minor technical irregularities that can be addressed in the shorter term, as well as a number of potential Clerk’s amendments to be made administratively.
