The Senate Select Committee on Australia’s Disaster Resilience was appointed to inquire into Australia’s preparedness, response and recovery workforce models, as well as alternative models to disaster recovery. This interim report identified several themes in terms of disaster resilience and makes four recommendations

The purpose of this inquiry was to explore the current evidence and challenges regarding contact sport-related concussion and repeated head injuries, and consider measures to improve the identification and prevention of these injuries, as well as reduce their short and long-term impacts.

This report provides background about the Commonwealth Paid Parental Leave (PPL) scheme (including the changes that came into effect on 1 July 2023) and its administration. It also explores participant views on the experiences and impacts of the Commonwealth PPL scheme.

A key recommendation from this inquiry is for the Australian Government to work with state and territory education authorities, and the non-government school sector, to develop and promote resources about 'school refusal', once a nationally agreed definition has been established, for parents, teachers and school leaders.

This report draws on evidence from several audit reports, and also from procurement practitioners, as well as the context of similar findings over recent years, to make 19 recommendations both to the audited entities and to the Australian Department of Finance as the 'steward' of the procurement framework.
