This paper presents a series of positions focused on enabling emissions reductions across all major sectors of the economy. Together, these positions are intended to support the Australian Government’s 2035 emissions reduction targets and place Australia on a credible, resilient pathway to achieving net zero emissions by 2050.

This report argues that while renting has become a long-term reality for many Queenslanders, the policy settings governing the rental market have failed to keep pace with the changing nature of housing in Australia. Queensland has an opportunity to modernise its rental system in a way that improves fairness, workforce mobility and housing access.

This report develops a framework to assess proposals to shrink the gas network through electrification, called strategic decommissioning or network pruning. It proposes changes governments can make to avoid further spending on gas networks.

This report explores attitudes towards gas network pruning (strategic decommissioning). It focuses on Australian households facing barriers to electrification and finds generally positive attitudes to the idea of repurposing gas pipeline expenditure for local area electrification. The report recommends governments and regulators develop and implement pruning, prioritising fully funded upgrades for low-income households.
