Legal Aid is funded by the Federal Government to provide legal support to eligible people who are appealing to the Administrative Review Tribunal about a National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) decision. This process evaluation details the merit of the program, its challenges, as well as the steps necessary for its efficient and ongoing operation.

This paper finds that Australian Government responses to challenges such as misinformation, online harms, privacy and hate speech are increasingly disproportionate and, in some cases, ineffective. It proposes that recent Australian laws risk undermining fundamental freedoms and weakening the principles that underpin a democratic society.

Ransomware is one of the most prolific and economically damaging cybercrime threats of the contemporary era. This paper examines the evolution and activities of ransomware criminal groups. Results reveal the most active ransomware criminal groups, the median range of their careers and the most targeted victim organisations by country and sector type.

Statutory review report: Crimes (Consent) Amendment Act 2022
This is a report of the statutory review of the operation of sections inserted into the Crimes Act 1900 in the Australian Capital Territory by the Crimes (Consent) Amendment Act 2022. The review aimed to determine whether these sections are clear and effective. It also examined whether the Amendment Act had any unintended consequences.
