This twelfth annual report from the Review of Government Service Provision examines the performance of all Australian governments providing education, justice, emergency management, health, community services and housing. These services account for 60 per cent of government recurrent expenditure and over 10 per cent of gross domestic product.

Timetable for the next Australian elections
While the calling of an election is partly a matter of political judgement and timing, a constitutional and legislative framework governs the electoral timetables and processes. The Constitution requires periodic elections for both Houses of Parliament, with separate provisions reflecting the different constitutional role of each House.
